I’ve released an optional database conversion tool for BPW to help modders bring their personal databases into a BPW-compatible format.

What this tool is

  • Converts user-supplied data from games you already own

  • Outputs data in a BPW-readable CSV format

  • Designed to reduce manual re-entry, not replace it

What this tool is NOT

  • Does not include or distribute copyrighted databases

  • Does not bundle assets or proprietary files

  • Does not give you a fully working BPW database out of the box

You will still need to review, maybe copy, and paste data into an exported BPW CSV and do some manual cleanup.

Supported Conversion Modes

  • Extreme Conversion
    For users converting from TEW-style databases

  • Sim Conversion
    For users converting from PWS-style databases

(Names are intentional to avoid referencing or redistributing proprietary content.)

Important Notes (Read This)

  • You must legally own the original game and database you are converting

  • No original files are redistributed in any form

  • BPW does not ship with real-world data

  • Converted data may require balancing or correction after import

  • This tool is optional and aimed at modders

  • Support will be limited in the immediate future as the current focus is on the game itself.

More conversion options may be added depending on demand and feasibility. Suggestions and feedback are welcome,

Modding Ethics (Non-Negotiable)

Mod makers put a huge amount of time and effort into their databases.

  • Do not share converted databases without the original creator’s explicit permission

  • Any claims of stolen or redistributed mods will be taken seriously

  • Offending content will be removed

Known Issues

  • Biography data does not import correctly so has been removed from the workers CSV
  • Weight classes are importing incorrectly.
  • Some contracts arent assigning correctly
  • Bulk Image import can be very slow depending on image amount

I keep getting this error that says “No Default driver selected” I don’t know what to do and i tried alot of things to get the issue solved, but I still get the error.

this usually occurs if you havent the Access engine installed. It should be in the zip file, if you run that then try again it should resolve it for you

Unfortunately I am still getting this error even with it installed, so I might need an extensive guide on how to get it to work properly.

Ok no problem and sorry youve had this experience. it may be a bit at least before i get round to it as the main game is my focus at the moment with it jsut releasing but i will improve the converter totally in the near future

I’m also getting a “Data Source Name Not Found” error. Didn’t notice that part, but I don’t know what it means.

I’ve done some research for the error me and everyone else seems to be getting and I can’t figure out how to fix it. Really sad as without the tew converter I’m unsure how much I’ll play, hopefully it’ll be an easy fix that can be done soon :frowning:
